Criminology is a sub-group of sociology. It is the
study of crime and criminal behavior, and its cause and related effects on
society in relation to criminal theory and the sociological implication of
criminal behavior.
Also in this course the scientific study of
crime, including its causes, responses by law enforcement, and methods of
prevention is studied . There are many fields of study that are used in the
field of criminology, including biology, statistics, psychology, psychiatry,
economics, and anthropology.

considerations are grouped into 4 areas:

Consent; participants
must have agreed to take part
2.
Confidentiality; the
details of the participant’s actions must remain confidential
3.
Avoidance of
harm; participants should not be harmed physically or psychologically in
the research process
4.
Avoidance of
deception; researchers should be honest about the study’s implications
